We collect the details we need to respond, connect buyers and sellers, help with financing or insurance, prevent fraud, and review transactions.
Information we collect
- Contact details, job title, employer, company website, and transaction role.
- What you want to buy or sell, including hardware, quantity, timing, budget, financing, and insurance needs.
- Buyer, end user, parent company, shipping, installation, and intended use details.
- Confirmations, signatures, review notes, screening results, and follow-up records.
- Basic site information such as device type, referring page, approximate location, and site activity.
How we use information
- Respond to buyers, sellers, brokers, operators, and service providers.
- Match buyers with sellers.
- Introduce financing or insurance partners when someone asks for help.
- Review parties, locations, planned use, and possible fraud or compliance concerns.
- Keep the records we need to run the service and follow the law.
- Understand which GPUs people want to buy or sell.
Site analytics
We use Google Analytics and Plausible to understand visits and interactions with the site. These services may process device information, referring pages, approximate location, IP-derived information, and site activity. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, or form contents through our analytics events.
Sharing
We may share the relevant details with a potential buyer or seller, a service provider, a professional adviser, a screening provider, a financing or insurance partner, or an authority when the law requires it. A financing or insurance partner may need information about the hardware, parties, location, use, value, and available reports. Each partner uses its own review process, privacy practices, and terms.
A company that provides an independent hardware report does not run RackUnion and does not automatically receive your contact information.
Retention and security
We keep records for as long as we reasonably need them to respond to you, review a deal, handle disputes, protect the service, and follow the law. No system is perfectly secure. We limit access to people who need the information for their work.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete your information where the law allows. We may need to keep some review records for legal, fraud prevention, or audit purposes.
